How We Support Wildlife Carers & Rescuers

Raising Awareness – Many people don’t realize the challenges wildlife carers face or how they can help. Through our social media platforms, community events, and educational outreach, we aim to highlight the incredible work being done and advocate for greater support for carers and rescuers.

Sharing Resources – Whether it's providing information on best practices, access to funding opportunities, or guidance on handling wildlife in emergencies, we want to make it easier for carers to find the help they need. Have a great resource to share? Let’s collaborate to spread useful knowledge.

Building a Support Network – Wildlife carers often work in isolation, but you don’t have to do it alone. We’re creating a space where carers, rescuers, and conservationists can connect, share experiences, ask for advice, and collaborate on solutions to common challenges.

Community & Volunteer Connections – Need extra hands? We can help link volunteers, local community members, and supporters with carers who need assistance. From helping with rescues to lending a hand with admin work or fundraising, there are many ways people can help lighten the load.

Emergency & Crisis Assistance – During extreme weather events such as heatwaves, bushfires, or floods, wildlife carers often see an influx of animals needing care. We want to ensure that carers have access to critical supplies, community support, and emergency response networks when they need them most.

Partnering with Organizations – Australian Wildlife Ambassadors will endeavor to work alongside wildlife rescue groups, conservation programs, and other organizations to amplify efforts, create stronger networks, and push for better support systems for carers and rescuers nationwide.

Get in Touch!

Are you a wildlife carer, rescuer, or organization looking for support? We’d love to hear from you! Whether you need help spreading awareness, connecting with others in the field, or sharing your story, reach out and let’s work together.

Together, we can create a stronger, more connected support system for the heroes who dedicate their lives to protecting our wildlife.

Why Should Your Club Get Involved?

Lions Clubs have a long-standing tradition of serving communities and making a difference. By joining AWA, your club will be part of a nationwide effort to protect Australia’s unique wildlife, preserve natural habitats, and support the selfless carers who dedicate their lives to rescuing animals in need.

Whether you want to start small with a local project or integrate wildlife conservation into your club’s ongoing initiatives, we’d love to collaborate.

💌 Reach out today! Let’s discuss how we can work together to expand this initiative, provide Wildlife Rescue Kits to your club, and create lasting change for our wildlife and the people who care for them.

Ways Your Lions Club Can Contribute...

Collecting Money

Fundraising & Donations

Support wildlife carers and rescue organizations by raising funds for essential supplies, rehabilitation efforts, or emergency relief during bushfires, heatwaves, and other crises.

First Aid

Wildlife Rescue Assistance

Equip your club with basic knowledge on assisting wildlife in emergencies. Whether it’s providing water stations during heatwaves or reporting injured wildlife, simple steps can save lives.

Comforting Hands

Hands-On Support

Looking for a hands-on project? Your club can organize working bees, build wildlife enclosures, plant trees for habitat restoration, or assist carers in need. Small actions make a big difference!

Wildlife Rescue Kits

We’ve developed Wildlife Rescue Kits (and so much more!) that include essential items to help injured or distressed animals. Your Lions Club can purchase these kits to keep in your community, distribute to members, or donate to local wildlife carers. Talk to us to learn more about how your club can get involved in this initiative!

Partnering with Local Carers & Organizations

Many carers work independently and struggle with resources. Your club can directly support a local wildlife carer or rescue group by supplying food, medical supplies, or volunteering time.
